BIO

This is my second web page design attempt, the frames version. Yes, I can hear the oooohing and aaaaaaahing right now.

As for me, well, what's there to say? I live in Grand Rapids, MI and work an hour's drive away in Lansing, MI. My current employer is the benevolent State of Michigan, and I work as a hydrologic engineer for the Department of Environmental Quality. I am always searching for employment in Grand Rapids, so if you are interested here's my Resume. Honestly, I enjoy my job but I find the commute to be more than a little painful. Ever since I started sharing rides through MICHIVAN it's been a lot less painful.

I earned my engineering degree from Calvin College here in Grand Rapids, which is also where my wife Kristen is attending at the moment. Calvin is a small, private, Christian college that is saturated with Christian Reformed Dutch culture. Nevertheless, it provides a really nice atmosphere to learn in (ALL of my professors actually knew my name!). Not to mention, I met some awesome people there who turned out to be my best friends!

I suppose this first page wouldn't be complete if I didn't talk at all about my interests. I love music, listening and sometimes playing. One of these days I plan on setting up a page dedicated to musical things. Sooooo many pages, so little time. I'm also severely addicted to aquariums. I know, it sounds wierd, but it's not, it's really not weird to want like 20 aquariums in your house, or even one room. Okay, it might be a little out of hand.
